Karen S. Beery

CLINTON — Karen S. Beery, 81, of Clinton, passed away at 3:13 a.m. on March 25, 2023, at Henry and Jane Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. J.D. McWhorter and the Rev. Richard Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the funeral home.

Karen was born on February 14, 1942, in Vandalia, Ill., the daughter of Dale and Freda (McNichol) Ballance. She married Carl L. Beery on August 31, 1961, in Mt. Vernon, Ill. He passed away on December 23, 2013.
Survivors include her daughters, Vicky (Rick) Burrell, Clinton, IL; Debora Carson, Clinton; Tammi Beery, Puyallup, Wash.; five grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Rita) Ballance, Salem, Ill.; Tom Ballance, Mo., and sister-in-law, Marilyn Ballance, West Chicago, Ill., along with several nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Freda Ballance, brother, David Ballance, and son-in-law, Bill Carson.
Karen assisted her husband, the Rev. Carl Beery, in ministry since 1968 with 15 of those years under the Rev. Richard Gray, at Full Tabernacle in Heyworth. She taught Sunday School for 50 years. Karen’s love was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her passion was talking to anyone about God.
