CLINTON — Karen Sue Shinneman, 78, of Clinton, passed away at 10:31 a.m. on April 24, 2023, at Bloomington Rehabilitation & Health Center, Bloomington.

Per Sue’s request no services are planned. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.

Sue was born on April 20, 1945, in Clinton, the daughter of Earl L. and Hazel L. (Bray) Polen.

Sue was formerly the general manager of The Clinton Daily Journal, in Clinton,  and then became the general manager of The Mendota Reporter in Mendota, Ill. She then relocated to Page, Ariz. to be the publisher of The Lake Powell Chronicle until her retirement in 2015.

Following her retirement, she returned to Clinton to be closer to her family. She enjoyed basket weaving, taking care of her flowers and especially spending time with her family.
