CLINTON — The Lady Maroons softball team moved from home field advantage to Rochester, Illinois for their second round of sectionals where they beat the Springfield High School Lady Solon’s in a three hit shutout pitched by Mackenzie Armstrong. Then, in the championship game against home team Rochester, the Lady Maroons had the tables turned as the Lady Rockets lit up the diamond with four runs while stifling the Lady Maroons offense. Clinton could produce no offense, so took the loss 4-0 to end their season at 10 wins and 18 losses.
For those who are still into the game, the softball sectionals will be here in Clinton throughout the Memorial Day week, ending with (hopefully, weather permitting) the championship game on Saturday, June 1.
