Lady Maroons head into regional after a win, a loss

CLINTON — Last week, the Lady Maroons had a game at home and one away to complete their regular 2023 season.
The Lady Maroons played at home against the Eureka Lady Hornets. The game started with the Lady Hornets stinging the Lady Maroons for a run in the top of the first inning. But, the Lady Hornets lead fell quickly as the home team scored a run of their own to tie the game and then added another run in the second inning to take the lead.
The Lady Hornets came back in the third inning, scoring a run to again tie the game, only to fall behind again as the Lady Maroons scored a run in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead.
From there, the home team would hold on to the lead as the opposition kept knocking at the door. The Lady Maroons added two runs in the fourth inning to widen their lead.
Each team then added their final single runs in the fifth inning to give the Lady Maroons the 6-3 win.
