CLINTON — Larry Joe Dodd, Sr., 73, of Clinton, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on April 23, 2017, at his family residence, Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Dan Ormond officiating. Graveside services at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, Ill. will follow with military honors. Visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Larry was born on April 19, 1944, in Farmer City, the son of Ernest and Anna (Vance) Dodd.
Survivors include his children, Larry (Lisa) Dodd, Jr., Imperial Beach, Calif.; Teresa (Greg) Grathwohl, Mt. Pulaski, grandchildren, Michael Short, Clinton; Logan Dodd, Imperial Beach, Calif.; siblings, Thomas Dodd, DeWitt, Ill.; Rose (Lee) Fisher, Kingman, Ariz.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Larry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. He retired from Revere Copper & Brass Inc., Clinton. He enjoyed fishing, joking and playing pranks on others.
