Department

On 06/19/20 Clinton Police arrested Devon R. Evans 23, Clinton for Aggravated Battery. Evans was transported to the DeWitt County Jail and released to Corrections.

On 06/20/20 Clinton Police arrested Kenneth W. Eads 51, Clinton for Criminal Trespass to Property and Theft under $500. Eads was released on a Notice to Appear in court.

June 12-18

Wesley Williams, 45, Deland, was issued a Citation for Operating Uninsured Vehicle. Williams was given a Notice to Appear and was released.
Edward Gaines, 30, Mahomet, was issued a Citation for Speeding (79 mph in a 55 mph zone). Gaines was given a Notice to Appear and was released.
Devanta Guzman, 25, Nobelsville, IN, was issued a Citation for Speeding (75 mph in a 55 mph zone). Guzman was given a Notice to Appear and was released.
Chevon Hough, 19, Champaign, was issued a Citation for Speeding (77 mph in a 55 mph zone). Hough was given a Notice to Appear and was released.
Investigation into scene of an accident which occurred at 1033 on 6/10/20 revealed that Hunter Matheny, 27, Kenney, was traveling west bound on IL Rt. 10. Jacob Brady, 30, Wapella, was stopped on IL Rt. 10 at a red light at US 51, facing west bound. Matheny’s front end collided with Brady’s rear end. Matheny was distracted by a small child that was in the back seat, when the accident occurred. Neither driver sustained injuries. Matheny’s vehicle had minor damage to its front end. Brady’s vehicle sustained minor damage to its rear end. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Matheny, was issued a Citation for Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident. Matheny was given a Notice to Appear and was released.
Eric Brown, 41, Decatur, was arrested and charged with DVG Under Influ of Alcohol. Brown was issued Citations for Illegal Transportation Alcohol, 2 Counts Driving Under Influence and Speeding (79 mph in a 55 mph zone). Brown, being unable to post the necessary bond remains lodged in the DeWitt County Jail.
Desiree Peavler, 42, Clinton, was arrested on a DeWitt County Warrant charging her with Violate Order Protection/FTA. Peavler posted the necessary bond and was released.
Investigation into the scene of an accident which occurred on 6/17/20 at 1740 revealed that Charles Glad, 34, Paxton, was traveling westbound on US-150 just east of IL-54. Colby Larkin, 18, Mansfield, was traveling eastbound on US-150 just east of IL-54. According to Larkin, as both vehicles passed, one another, an unknown object hit Unit 2, caused damage to the front windshield and a pillar of his car. Larkin claimed some unknown object fell from Glad’s vehicle and struck his vehicle. According to Glad, everything on his vehicle was secured, locked and at the time of the accident, he was not hauling any heavy loads/objects. Glad wanted it noted that the plastic cover on the bucket pole had already been damaged and was removed prior to this incident. No citations were issued as a result of this investigation
Investigation into the scene of an accident with occurred on 6/18/20 at 0918 revealed that Kimberly Petri, 33, Bloomington, was traveling south on Friends Creek Road near the intersection with Airport Road. Emilee Fenton, 19, Clinton was traveling east on Airport Road near the intersection with Friends Creek Road. There is a yield sign located on Friends Creek Road on the north and south side of this intersection. Petri said she did not see the Yield sign and said she has never traveled on this road before. Petri said after the collision with Fenton, her vehicle rolled into the ditch, landing on all four tires, facing north east. Petri had airbag deployment and had major damage covering the vehicle. Fenton said she did not see Petri and tried to stop, but was unable to avoid collision. Fenton had a passenger in the rear passenger seat, properly restrained in a child car seat. Fenton had major front-end damage, including the grill, hood and front bumper. Fenton did not have airbag deployment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Petri was issued Citations for Disobeying traffic Control Device and Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident.

All subjects are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
