10/20/19

Audrey L. Barry, 32, Clinton, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, registration suspended, mandatory insurance violation.  Notice to appear issued.

10/21/19

Warren D. Burnett, 24, Decatur, operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Notice to appear issued.

Arrests

On Oct. 19, Clinton Police arrested Bradley E. Flowers, 48, Chatham, for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana 10-30 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Flowers was transported to the DeWitt County jail and released to corrections.

Oct. 11-18

Wyatt Hosier, 21, Clinton, was issued a citation for Speeding (69 mph in a 45 mph zone). Hosier was given a Notice to Appear and was released.

Savannah Lapitan, 20, Clinton, was arrested, charged and issued a citation for Agg Speeding/35+ above the limit (103 mph in a 55 mph zone). Lapitan posted the necessary bond and was released.

Marcus Downen, 23, Lincoln was issued Citations for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Speeding (81 mph in a 55 mph zone). Downen was given a Notice to Appear and was released.

Thomas Dunlap, 39, Weldon, was issued a citation for Speeding (82 mph in a55 mph zone). Dunlap was given a Notice to Appear and was released.

Latasha Birden, 30, Decatur, was arrested on a DeWitt County Warrant charging her with Burglary. Birden, unable to post the necessary bond remains lodged in the DeWitt County Jail.

Investigation in to the scene of an accident which occurred on 10/11/19 at 0632 revealed that Gerald Ellrick, 76, Clinton, was traveling north bound on Regan Road, approaching Illinois 54. Ellrick came to a complete stop at IL 54 and began to enter the intersection, where he intended to turn west bound. Tony Jennings, 59, Decatur, was traveling eastbound on Il 54, approaching Ragen Road. Jennings was not required to stop. The front end of Jennings struck the driver’s side of Ellrick. Both vehicles received extensive damage and were towed from the scene. Ellrick was issued a citation for failure to yield to right of way, given a Notice to Appear and was released.

Investigation in to the scene of an accident which occurred on 10/15/19 at 12:00 p.m. revealed that Steven Howard, 69, Wapella was northbound on Chestnut St. in Wapella. Howard stopped at the stop sign at Main St. David Hickman, 71, Wapella, was eastbound on Main St. Howard proceeded into the intersection, colliding with the rear passenger side of Hickman. The collision caused damage to the rear passenger side fender, rim and tire of Hickman’s vehicle. Howard had minor damage to the front bumper. Howard’s vehicle was driven from the scene. Hickman’s vehicle was towed due to damage.

Brian Doggett, 42, Wapella, was arrested on a DeWitt County Warrant charging him with Fail Notify DMG/Unattend Veh/FTA. Doggett posted the necessary bond and was released.

Stephanie Howard, 43, Clinton, was issued a citation for Speeding (74 mph in a 55 mph zone). Howard was given a Notice to Appear and was released.

Wyatt Hawn, 19, Clinton, was issued citations for Failure to Notify Police Authority of accident; Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident; Improper Lane Usage and Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident. Hawn was given a Notice to Appear and was released.

Craig Smith, 31, Weldon, was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident. Smith was given a Notice to Appear and released.

All subjects are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
