The former Lighthouse Thrift Store building was the first to come down this week and workers began demolition of a block of buildings at the intersection of Grant and Van Buren Streets. The block is scheduled for construction of a gas station and convenience store. The former The Shack building also came down on Monday. Demolition continued on Tuesday morning.
