CLINTON — Linda K. Newman, 72, of Clinton, passed away at 6:46 p.m. on April 28, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Clinton FFA.
Linda was born on September 7, 1944, in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Robert and Iona (Hedgepath) Dean. She married Charles H. Newman on October 6, 1972, in Clinton. He passed away on March 29, 2013.
Survivors include her children, Karen Shinneman, St. Claire, Mo.; Jill (Mark) Karkiewicz, Mahomet, Ill.; Brad (Mitzi) Willard, Clinton; Gregg (Kim) Willard, Palm Harbor, Fla.; Brandi (Gary) Alsup, Clinton; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Faye) Dean, Decatur; sister, Vicki Densmore, Maroa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters,Violet June Newman, Sheila Campbell; Charles’s parents, Herschel and June Newman.
Linda retired from Revere Copper & Brass Inc. in 1999 after 30 years of service.
