FORSYTH — Lois E. Pasley, 92, of Forsyth, passed away from this world on May 7, 2022.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Bellflower Township Cemetery, Bellflower, with Scott Marsh officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, she asked that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the Economy Shop, an entity operated by Grace UMC, in Decatur.
Lois was born on November 6, 1929, in Farmer City, the daughter of Chester G. and Nina (Dennison) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Smith, Jr., in 1971, and James Pasley, in 1989. Her longtime friend, John Hooge, of Decatur, also preceded her in death.
Lois is survived by two sons, Mark and Phil Smith, three grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
Her love of family, her devotion to life and her passion for swimming kept her well until the end. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Decatur, a decades long volunteer at the Economy Shop, an active participant in the Lois Club, and a member of the Clinton YMCA.
She retired from Macon County Eye Center. She loved helping others, reading, visiting lighthouses, and enjoying her water aerobics and friends at the Y.
