CLINTON — On Monday October 16, 2023, we lost a dear family member, a friend, a sister, an aunt, a mother and a grandmother.

Lori Renee Shepherd passed away in her sleep and is now at peace in the arms of her loved ones.

Lori was born on September 13, 1961, in Wood River, Ill. to Dixie and Joe Carroll.

She worked as a surgical OB tech at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center for most of her adult life. She was very astute and loved her job and her coworkers and the physicians she worked alongside.

In 1987, she married Terry Shepherd and raised their daughter, Kaci and son, Marshal.  Being a mother was one of her greatest joys. 

A few years after marriage, she pursued and became a sought- after, licensed massage therapist for her expertise in Swedish massage.

Lori was full of personality and never knew a stranger.

The sparkle and adoration in her eyes was her grandson Ryker, her “Shepherd Boy.”

She was triumphant in her fight against skin cancer and always a St Louis Cardinals fan!

However, most of all, she loved Jesus and began her mornings with daily Mike Talks for devotion and prayer.
