CLINTON — Lorin E. Riddle, 88, of Clinton, passed away at 5:50 p.m. on February 25, 2018, at his family residence, Clinton.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, today, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Pastor Doug Lowery officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Clinton Community Education Foundation for Agriculture, or to the DeWitt Co. 4-H.

Lorin was born on March 16, 1929, in Clinton, the son of Charles Isam and Goldie Mae (Page) Riddle. He married Rita Rosalie Brennan on November 1, 1949, in Clinton.  She passed away on August 28, 2007.

Survivors include his children, Nan (Michael) Crang, Clinton; Chris (Nancy) Riddle, Clinton; Craig (Madelyn) Riddle, Lane, Ill.; Lindon (Rebecca) Riddle, Clinton; Camill (Brian) Tedrick, Clinton; seven grandchildren, Adam (Karen) Crang, Gilbert, Ariz.; Kristin Riddle, Clinton; Brian (Elizabeth) Riddle, Clinton; Lorin J. (Kaye) Riddle, Clinton; Arnall Riddle, Williston, N.D.; Elsie (Brandon) Hedgspeth, Mahomet, Ill.; and Ashton Tedrick, Clinton; five great-grandchildren; and one sister: Louise “Lou” Gibson, Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

Lorin was a life-long resident of Creek Township, and farmed for many years in DeWitt County. He was a mentor for Parkland College internship for farming. His memberships included Assistant Beef Superintendent for the Illinois State Fair, Illinois Soybean Assoc. Booster, American Angus Assoc., past member of Weldon/Lane Co-op., and involved with the Weldon 4-H Club for over 20 years. He was a proud Grandpa and Great-Grandpa.
