CLINTON — Mae Louise Fitzgerald, 95, of Clinton, passed away 1:19 a.m. on January 2, 2019, at Liberty Village, Clinton.
Private graveside services will be conducted on Monday, January 7, 2019, at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church, Clinton.
Mae was born on June 20, 1923, in Hamel, Ill., the daughter of William Robert and Mabel (Florence) Brewer. She married Harold Dean Fitzgerald in February 1945 in Peoria. He passed away on January 1, 2014.
Survivors include her brother, William (Karen) Brewer, Jr., Stephens City, Va.; and special friend, Jeff Moore, Clinton.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Maj. Rodney H. Fitzgerald, on April 30, 1980.
Mae was a member of the First Christian Church, Clinton. She and her husband owned and operated Fitzgerald Jewelers, Clinton, which opened April 1, 1957. They then opened a second store in 1978 at the Hickory Point Mall, Forsyth.
Harold and Mae also owned the Meadow Lakes subdivision on Route 10, west of Clinton. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
