CLINTON — Kerry S. Daniels, 57, of Clinton, died Thursday as a result of a local industrial accident, DeWitt County Coroner Randy Rice reported Friday. A news release from Rice reported that a load of sheet metal fell on Daniels causing his death.
Just before 10 a.m. on Thursday, Clinton emergency personnel, EMS, Clinton Fire Department and Clinton Police, responded to McElroy Metal for a report of a person who was unconscious after being hit by a bundle of metal. Dispatchers reported the person was still under the bundle as responders were reporting at the scene.
Dispatchers also reported the accident required CPR to be performed on the victim after being cleared from the metal.
Clinton Police Department and the DeWitt County Coroner are investigating the incident.
