CLINTON — Marcel Jakoby, 89, of Clinton, passed away at 1:46 p.m. on May 5, 2019, at Manor Court, Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Crum Cemetery, Wapella, with the Rev. Fr. James Henning officiating. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to Marcel Jakoby memorial fund.
Marcel was born in Esch/Alzette, Luxembourg to Jean J. and Josephine M. He married Phyllis Finger November 4, 1972, in Aurora, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, Clinton; children Josette (Allen), Clinton, and Eric (Karen), Decatur, Ill.; five grandchildren, two great- grandsons, and brother, Jean Pierre (Maisy), Bascharage, Luxembourg; many nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Marcel enjoyed watching sports, especially watching and playing soccer and golf. He played soccer for 26 years and held the record for most goals in one year. For many years he drove for CF Consolidation Freight way in the LaSalle/Peru area.
