ARGENTA — In an early holiday game, the Clinton Maroons sailed into Argenta/Oreana to take on the Bombers.
Although the opposition was able to get some second -chance baskets in the first half, they didn’t negate the turnover points created by the Maroons. Besides the work of the defense flattening the tires of the opposition, the offense kept the Bombers reeling.
This was a game the Maroons really needed to start turning the season around. Coach Haurberg said after the game, “Our intensity level was much higher than in previous outings. The stat we were most pleased with was our 13 of 13 shooting from the charity stripe tonight.”
This brings the Maroons season to a 4-8 mark and improving. The Maroons were led Clayton Welch with 19 points, Skyler Williamson with 17 points, and Tyrese Petty with 11 points. In thew lead off game the Maroon junior varsity won 44-32.
