SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Mary Colleen (Terpening) Stephens, 93, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and a native and long-time resident of Clinton, died at 6:06 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Gardiner Home, Phoenix, Ariz.
She was born on July 18, 1928, in Clinton, a daughter of Charles E. and Nora (Barry) Terpening. She married Marion Lee Wagner on May 29, 1949. They were divorced on August 29, 1980.
She is survived by her three daughters, Shae (Dr. William) Dixon of Scottsdale, Ariz; Terry Wagner of Wilmington, N.C.; and Paige Wagner of Lake Wales, Fla. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Dr. Ashleigh Dixon, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Dr. Alexis Dixon, of Marina del Rey, Calif.; Neal Dixon of Phoenix, Ariz.; David (Megan) Dixon of Portland, Ore.; Elijah Logue, of Clinton, and Sage (Zach) Lash, of DeWitt, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren.
Colleen married Elmer Eugene Stephens on August 29, 1981, in Clinton. He died on September 19, 2009. She was a member of First Christian Church, in Clinton, where she was active in choir, Sunday school, and teachers’ training.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on June 4, 2022, in the Family Life Center, at the First Christian Church, in Clinton, with Pastor Ernie Harvey officiating. Condolences may be sent to The family of Colleen Stephens, 27166 N 73rd St., Scottsdale, AZ 85266.
