CLINTON — Mary E. Tomkinson, 70, of Clinton, passed away at 9:24 p.m. on December 19, 2022, at her family residence, Clinton.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, with Pastor Aaron Bird officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Lutheran School Association of Decatur or the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Decatur.

Mary was born on January 9, 1952, in Quincy, Ill., the daughter of Harold and Norma (Nelson) Begeman. She married Dennis Tomkinson on November 28, 1981 in Bethalto, Ill.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Tomkinson, Clinton; children, Brian (Erica) Tomkinson, Lincoln; Jason Tomkinson, Bloomington; and Sarah Tomkinson, Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Ryan Tomkinson, Lincoln, and brother, John (Lois) Begeman, Mendon, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary loved camping and puzzles but especially teaching at the Lutheran School Association of Decatur.
