CLINTON — Mary Ellen Dubson, 94 of Clinton, passed away 5:46 a.m. April 23, 2019, at the Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on April 27, 2019, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to DeWitt County Friendship Center.
Mary Ellen was born on July 28, 1924, in Clinton, the daughter of Clyde L. and Lucile (Clark) Harvey. She married Raymond S. Dubson, December 20, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo. He passed away on February 17, 1981.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn (Marvin) Reed, Green Valley, Ill., and Michael R. Dubson, Clinton, six grandchildren, Christal (Russ) Hamm, Pekin, Ill.; Sherrie (Bob) Kruse, Burlington, Iowa; Michael R. (Kristy Moore) Dubson, Jr., Clinton; Michelle (James) Van Valey, Clinton; Melinda Dubson, Taylorville, Ill.; and Brian (Tricia) Cooper, Clinton, 11 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, half-sister, Pat Reynolds, Clinton; Debbie (Steve) Carter, Tenn., Randy Dubson, Indiana, and Gary Dubson, Texas, whom she raised as her own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Clyde Harvey, Jr., sister, Ruth Cope, daughter Linda Cooper, 10 step-siblings, as well as half-sister, Evelyn.
Mary Ellen worked at IGA in the deli for many years. She loved crocheting and playing BINGO and was known as “Grandma BINGO.”
