CLINTON — Mary Ellen Junkert, 85, of Clinton, passed away at 7:11 p.m. on August 2, 2021, at her family home in Clinton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton, with the Rev. Fr. James Henning celebrant. Entombment will follow at Clinton Mausoleum, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 1–2 p.m. on Monday at the church. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mary Junkert memorial fund c/o Chris Junkert.
Mary Ellen was born on July 5, 1936, in Clinton, the daughter of Harold and Florence “Flossie” (Hollibaugh) Sullivan. She married Owen F. Junkert on October 29, 1955, in Portland, Ore. He passed away on April 8, 2015.
Survivors include her children, Chris (Marlyn) Junkert, Valrico, Fla.; Stacy Halverson, Clinton; Paula (Bill) Caubre, St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Chrisalyn and Sean Junkert, and Claire and Michael Caubre; siblings, Ruth Ann “Annie” Rickgauer, Clinton, and Marilyn (Earl) Thayer, Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Larry Sullivan and sister, Norma “Arlene” Sosamon.
Mary Ellen was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church, The Eagles, The Elks, and the Clinton Country Club, where she was always striving for another “hole in one.” She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her family was very important to her.
