CLINTON — Recently, the 14-U Extreme Mayhem played softball at Wapella Park against the Bloomington Integrity. The afternoon was sunny and very windy with dust everywhere. And this was to be a double-header.
It was evident early in the first game that the Integrity was a slightly older and more experienced team, jumping to a 9-0 lead in the first inning.
Although the Mayhem didn’t score any runs in the game, the team rallied in the field holding the Integrity to only 4 more runs scattered throughout the game.
The second game was again a rough pill to swallow, but the Extreme Mayhem was able to plate a couple of runs in this contest, both on lead-off triples. But again, the Integrity was at the top of their game and scored often.
This game was a little different in that the Integrity runs were scattered over all innings as the Mayhem defense held better in the second round of play.
The Extreme Mayhem now enter state tournament play this week.
