CLINTON — For the 152nd year, Clinton will honor its fallen servicemen at services to be held on Monday, May 28th at 10 a.m. at the Civil War Soldiers Monument on the east side of Woodlawn Cemetery. 

In case of bad weather,  services will be held at First Christian Church. The church is offering rides from the church to the cemetery. You may park at the church; a driver will take you to the cemetery and back to the church  after services. 

This year, members of the CHS band will  perform. The band is under the direction of Nathan Wheeler and Jeff Hendricker The National Anthem will be led by Vanessa Devore, and Marcia Wise will provide special music. Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, with troop leaders Don Husted and Joe Adams will also take part.  The Address of the Day will be delivered by former U.S Marine Keith Volker, of Clinton, now an employee of Exelon, Clinton Power Station. Luke Shobe, DAR Good Citizen of the CHS Class of 2018, will lead the American’s Creed and introduce the speaker.

The young people decorating the graves will be assisted by Mary Deiner, Jane Waddock and Carole Wylder. Pastor Dunlop of Christ Lutheran Church will  lead us in prayer. Many veterans will be a part of the Honor Guard,,,,,, and presenting wreaths. Any veteran or anyone now serving in the military  who wishes to enter following the Colors, may meet at the north end of the cemetery at 9:45. Travis Quinn will serve as the drummer for the Honor Guard.

There will be chairs, provided by Calvert Funerals Chapels, but you may want to bring your own as seating is limited.
