Memorial Day observance scheduled for May 29

CLINTON — The Memorial Day services will return this year to the Civil War Plot at Woodlawn Cemetery.
The service will begin at 10 a.m., May 29, and will be conducted by the combined veterans organizations, including American Legion post #103, AMVETS Post #14, and VFW Post #4168). Everyone is encouraged to join in the remembrance of fallen American service members.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be conducted at the United Methodist Church.
The Clinton High School band will be in attendance for musical interludes and the playing of the Star Spangled Banner, under the direction of Nathan Wheeler. Others will be announced as plans are finalized and speakers are all confirmed.
Jeff Hendricker, from Clinton Junior High School will play TAPS. All veterans are invited to walk with the opening color guard procession as well as all Boys’ and Girls’ Scouts.
