CLINTON — Michael Eugene Easton, 64, of Clinton, passed away of cancer in his home with family present at 11:32 a.m., on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

Per Mike’s request, there will not be any services at this time. A Celebration of Life will follow in the spring along with a benefit at a later date. 

He was born on February 14, 1955, at the Limestone, Maine Air Force base, the son of Robert and Sara Easton (Sparling).  He married Debra (McMillan) Easton  on May 30, 1982. 

Survivors include wife, Debra Easton; daughters, Kim Cordes Fisher (Tom), Bourbonnais, Ill.; Shawn Brewer (Doug), Clinton; Michelle Akeman (Paul), Clinton; Trenay Easton, Clinton. Michael also had 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. 

Also surviving are his father, Robert Easton (Betty), Clinton; two sisters, Kim Easton (Rob), Clinton; and Tammy Shouse (Ron), Clinton. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sara Easton (Sparling); father in law, Bill McMillan; and granddaughter, Shannon Shepherd. 

Mike was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed listening to the blues and attending many blues festival events. He met with his group of friends every Friday night. They called themselves the “Garage Guys.”  He could usually be found in his backyard garden planting and weeding or on his Harley around town in the summertime. He also loved going to car shows and working on his own 1969 Chevrolet Suburban. Mike was a contractor, self employed for many years, specializing in drywall and painting. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
