ST. ELMO, Ill. — Michael Springman, 60, of St. Elmo, died at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

A memorial service will be at conducted at 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the St. Elmo Christian Church with Pastor Jim Quick officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, rural St. Elmo.

Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting the family with arrangements.

Michael Joseph Springman was born on Tuesday, December 25, 1962, in Peoria, to Frank and Waneta (Larimore) Springman. He married Joni K. Koonce on July 30, 1993, in Vandalia, and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2018. He was affiliated with the Catholic church and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He was a beloved uncle to many which was his greatest joy in life.

He is survived by his brother, Ron Springman, Clinton; sister, Jacinta (Mark) Savedra, Independence, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
