At the age of 83, Myrna Johnson, of Lake Worth Fla., passed away quietly with her children by her side at Wellington Regional Medical Center, Wellington Fla., where she lived with her daughter Thresa Newkirk since 2015. Prior to Florida, she lived in Danville, Georgetown and Warrensburg, Ill. She was raised outside Clinton.

Myrna Johnson

LAKE WORTH, Fla. — At the age of 83, Myrna Johnson, of Lake Worth Fla., passed away quietly with her children by her side at Wellington Regional Medical Center, Wellington Fla., where she lived with her daughter Thresa Newkirk since 2015.  Prior to Florida, she lived in Danville, Georgetown and Warrensburg, Ill.  She was raised outside Clinton.

Born to Ina and Lester Cunningham, she was the youngest of four children, all of whom passed away before her, Leota, Carl, and Jean.  Myrna graduated from Kenney High School in 1953, and was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Johnson. 

She is survived by three children, Paul Johnson of Sedona, Ariz., Thresa Newkirk of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Rhonda Powell of Danville, Ill.  

Myrna has four grandchildren, Emily Carter, Tristan Johnson, Matthew Turner, and Alexis Newkirk.  She also has four great grandchildren, Noah, Evan, and Abigail Carter, and Eli Johnson.

Myrna will be missed by her loving family, a legacy she cherished.

Services will be conducted at 11 a,m, on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. Randy Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney. Visitation will be held from  10–11 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, at the funeral home.
