New store site’s lack of neatness a problem for nearby residents

CLINTON — As Clinton’s new Dollar General store, located at Ill. Rt. 54 east and E. North Street, begins operation with temporary electrical power, residents living in the area aren’t happy with the messy state of the site.
At Tuesday’s city council meeting, resident Kendra Hunt highlighted an itemized list of problems she had kept track of. Hunt was one of a group of residents who protested the store’s opening, citing a fear of flooding and traffic.
Hunt said she and her neighbors continued to get blowing trash and debris not properly handled at the store.
