CLINTON — One city council incumbent was reelected Tuesday, while another lost her bid to remain on the council.

City Commissioner of Accounts and Finances Tom Edmunds was reelected over challenger former mayor Carolyn Peters.  Edmunds won over Peters 499 votes to 237.

Incumbent Commissioner of Streets and Public Improvements Nan Crang lost to challenger retired city employee Kenney Buchanan 449 votes to 232.  A second challenger for that seat, John Bartuch, received 65 votes.

Dan Ballenger, mayor Roger Cyrulik and John Wise were reelected unopposed.

It was a low voter turnout countywide with 16.8 percent of registered voters casting ballots.

In the nearby Wapella Village Board race, Sherry Mears was elected board president unopposed, while Bryan Atwood was elected as a board trustee for a two-year term.  Atwood was serving as board president.
