Patsy Ann Hettinger Baker

MONTICELLO —Patsy Ann Hettinger Baker, 81, formerly of Weldon, passed away at the Piatt County Nursing Home on Sept. 7 at 5:30 a.m. She succumbed to ongoing health Issues.
Patsy was born on November 11, 1941, at Kirby Hospital, in Monticello, daughter of Louis and Gladys Hettinger, granddaughter of Ellsworth Edwin Brown and Grace Mae Johnson Brown.
She graduated from Monticello High School in June 1959. Patsy married Charles Darwin Baker at Monticello Christian Church on September 30, 1958. He passed away in May 2023.
Surviving are two sisters, Peggy Lu Welch, Zephyrhills, Fla., and Phyllis Ingleman, of Rantoul; children, Randy Baker, of Springfield, Mo.; Gary Baker, of Rantoul; Joe and Sherry Baker, of Champaign; Alan and Kathryn Huff, of Granite Ciru, Ill; Melissa and Jason Hardy, of Overland, Mo, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Stephen Charles Baker, on Feb. 5, 2005, and one brother, Darrell Hettinger, of Rantoul.
Graveside services for Patsy will be held at DeLand Cemetery at 10 a.m. on September 30, 2023, what would have marked her 65th wedding anniversary. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
