CLINTON — Peggy A. Sympson, 94, of Clinton, passed away at 2:51 a.m. on May 15, 2019, at the Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with Rev. Paul Froese officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to Chestnut United Methodist Church or DeWitt County animal shelter.
Peggy was born on February 22, 1925 in Chestnut, Ill., the daughter of Ralph and Alma (Naugle) Donnan. She married John “Bill” Howe on September 23, 1944, in Little Rock, Ark. and later married Richard “Stan” Sympson on March 12, 1977.
Survivors include her husband Richard “Stan” Sympson, Clinton, daughter, Darlene (Craig) Lowe, Seminole, Fla., grandson, Tyler (Kaylee) McKinney, Lincoln, Ill., great-granddaughter, Lily McKinney, three step-children, and two step grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Richard Lynn Howe, sister, Louise Meredith, and brother, Elmer Donnan.
Peggy was a member of the Chestnut United Methodist Church. For 30 years, she was a crossing guard for the Clinton School District. She enjoyed playing BINGO at the DeWitt County Friendship Center, and spending time with friends.
