CLINTON — Clinton Unit School District No. 15 announces plans to conduct a screening program for all children who will be 3 years of age and younger than 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2018, to determine eligibility for the CUSD #15 Preschool for All program. The program serves preschool children who without early intervention may be at risk for academic difficulties later in school. Not all children that are screened will be eligible for our program.
Parents are encouraged to register their children for a screening appointment. Children will receive vision and hearing checks along with an assessment of speech/language, social, cognitive, and motor development. Screening sessions will last approximately 60 minutes.
Parents may register their children Monday, March 5 between the hours of 4-7 p.m. at Douglas School or Thursday, March 8 between the hours of 4-7 p.m. at Lincoln School. Appointments will be made at this time and information packets will be handed out. Only adults registering the child need to attend. If you have any questions, please call Douglas School 935-2987 or Lincoln School 935-6383.
The screening program will be conducted March 21, 22, and 23, at St. John’s Parish Center, 514 North Monroe Street. Childcare is not available, please bring only the child who will participate in the screening.
Parents of preschool children screened last year, who are not in a CUSD 15 preschool program, are encouraged to have their children screened again this year. Children currently enrolled in a CUSD 15 preschool program, do not need to be screened.
