Revolution playing a full schedule

CLINTON — After their commanding wins over the Decatur Jokers at home, the (Clinton based) Central Illinois Revolution traveled to Bourbonnais, for three games in a tournament.

The team was pumped for their first game of the tournament against the Manhattan (Illinois) Badgers 15-U team.  The Revolution struck first with 2 runs in the second inning, then followed with 5 runs in the third.  The Revolution finished the win with 3 runs in the fourth to take a 10-0 win in the opener.

They then had a devil with demons on the field.  First was the Lincoln Way Blue Demons who held off a final run by the Revolution to take a 6-5 win, and then the Oak Forest Blue Demons won out in a back and forth contest that again left the Revolution one run short, losing 7-6.

The Revolution then returned home for two games with the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers and one with the Piatt County Blue Devils, all single games.  Mt Pulaski was first up and gave the home team a struggle.

The Hilltoppers struck first, before the Revolution opened up a scored in the third and fourth to take a one run lead, which disappeared in the seventh on 3 runs by the opposition.  The Revolution put on a drastic offensive drive in the bottom of the inning finishing on a walk-off double by pitcher Michael Oswald driving in the winning run for a 6-5 win.

The next evening the Revolution hosted the Piatt county Jr. Legion Blue Devils.  This outing was a much easier run for the home team as they scored early and late, and often.  It seemed as though everyone got into the act as the Revolution scored 2 runs in the first and six runs in each of the final 2 innings to win 14-0.

Finally, a few days later the Revolution again faced Mt. Pulaski, who arrived with a chip on their shoulder.  In a slugfest, both teams scored 3 runs in the first inning.  Then in the third inning, the Revolution took the lead on 6 runs to 4 for the Hilltoppers.  Mt. Pulaski lost steam scoring only one more run while Clinton scored 3 more, taking a 12-8 win and a winning 3 game home stand.
