WAPELLA — Robert L. “Odie” Sloat III, 43, of Wapella, passed away at 5:26 p.m. on August 5, 2022, in rural Clinton.
Visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney.

Robert was born on March 8, 1979, in Normal, the son of Robert Lee “Lee Bob” Sloat, Jr. and Debbie Mann. He married Irene Gaddis on July 10, 2004, in Clinton, and found his other life partner, Kim Queen in 2012.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Sloat, and life partner, Kim Queen, Wapella; children, Trentyn (Mylee) Queen, Clinton; Jackson Queen, Wapella; Lilian Queen, Wapella; siblings, Shanon Evans, Miss.; Jake (SeAnna) Sloat, DeWitt; Spring Sloat, Clinton; Andy Sloat, Clinton; father, Robert Lee “Lee Bob” (Janet) Sloat, Jr, Clinton; mother, Debbie Mann, Clinton; stepfather, Mike Mont, Waynesville; mother-in-law, Jeannie Gaddis, Bloomington; uncle, Vernon “Lumpy” (Susan) Vinson, Clinton; along with special cousins, Jesse Sloat and Kálee Maiden and many nieces, nephews, and some amazing friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pat and V.V. Vinson; paternal grandfather, Robert Sloat; father-in-law, Howard Gaddis; maternal grandparents, Eileen and Skip Mann; and uncle, J.T. Sloat.
Odie worked at Equipment City, in Clinton. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
