CLINTON — Ronald L. Bandy, 89, of Clinton, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on December 5, 2022, at his family residence, Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30–11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Edinburg Cemetery, Edinburg, Ill.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Neighborhood Care Center of Clinton.
Ronald was born on September 24, 1933, in Edinburg, Ill., the son of William T. and Nettie (Wolfe) Bandy. He married Judith E. Edwards on August 4, 1961, in Edinburg.
Survivors include his wife, Judith E. Bandy, Clinton; children, Tami (Gary) Shawgo, Peoria, and Von (Deanna) Bandy, Springfield; grandchildren, Olivia (Alex) German, Madison (Connor) Carnduff, Evan (Reily) Shawgo, Parker Bandy, and Carly Bandy; great grandchildren, Brinley Shawgo and Owen German; siblings, Robert (Herberta) Bandy, Taylorville, Ill. and Darrell Bandy, Moweaqua, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and three sisters.
Ron worked for Lowers Furniture, Empire Gas and retired from the Warner Hospital after 17 years. He was on the Clinton Fire Department and the school board for 13 years, along with being past president of the Athletic Booster Club, and a Khoury League Coach.
Ron loved woodworking, enjoyed the Illini, St. Louis Cardinals, but mostly he loved his grandchildren and watching their activities.
