TAYLORVILLE — Russell Keith Wantland, 84, of Taylorville, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at 8:55 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, in Taylorville.
He was born on January 10, 1937, in Lane, the son of Russell and Helen (North) Wantland. He married Dixie Johnson on July 26, 1957, in Lane.
Keith worked as a contractor and developed Timber Lake Estates, in Taylorville. Keith was a member of Way of Life Church, in Taylorville. He was a talented wood worker, he loved his home and, most of all, his family.
He is survived by his wife Dixie Wantland, of Taylorville; daughter Cindy Nisinger, of Taylorville; grandchildren Keith and Anna Tippett, of North Carolina; step-granddaughter Victoria Nisinger, of Cleveland, N.C.; sisters Sharon Pearl, of Farmers City; Marilyn (Steve) Florie, of Goodfield, Ill.; brother David (Ruthie) Wantland; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Brian Nisinger, brother Elwin Wantland and sister June Ellen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home, in Taylorville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021, starting at 1 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home, in Taylorville, with Pastor Stan Pratt officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
