CLINTON — The Clinton school district did not receive its anticipated first general state aid payment from the State of Illinois for the 2017-18 school year. Superintendent Curt Nettles said the state should be sending $65,000 to $70,000 payments twice each month but isn’t surprised the money has not been received because the state “is at this standstill.”
“Obviously we’re in a situation now that it is going to take bipartisan effort to pass anything,” said Nettles. “So we’ll see what happens.”
New hires and appointments approved by the board at Tuesday’s meeting included:
• Karen Maharas as CJHS English teacher.
• Kim Mast as prom advisor.
• Nate Ennis as assistant golf coach.
• Patrick Fought as district bus driver.
• Lisa Groves as CHS study hall supervisor.
• Karol Wilson as CJHS aide.
• Kelli Cothern as speech pathologist at Douglas School.
