Sherry Lynn Tarrant

MT. ZION, Ill. — Sherry Lynn Tarrant, 62, of Mt. Zion, passed away at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in her residence.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in the Decatur Sunnyside Seventh Day Adventist Church, 530 N. Sunnyside Road, Decatur, IL 62522.
The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 5 p.m. until service time on Thursday evening at the church. Inurnment will be at held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with services.

Sherry was born on February 20, 1961, in Clinton, the daughter of Jerry Lee Stiles and Linda (Kennedy) Stiles-Charlett. She married Jeff Tarrant on September 30, 1994.
Sherry formerly volunteered as an EMT for the Maroa Fire Department. She was employed as a pharmacist tech at Decatur Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years and for Dales Southlake Pharmacy for more than 10 years. She loved her job and retired in 2022 after a long bout with COVID.
She was a member of Decatur Sunnyside Seventh Day Adventist Church. Sherry loved reading mystery novels, raising her pet dogs and enjoyed making delicious food for family and friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her laughter and smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Sherry was described as a person who would help anyone in need.
Surviving is her husband, Jeff Tarrant, of Mt. Zion; daughter, Lindsay Glynn (Matt) of St. Petersburg, Fla.; twin sons, Jared Tarrant (Sierra Roberts) of Decatur, and Joel Tarrant (Michelle Kuruc), of Bloomington; mother, Linda Charlett, of Clinton; stepmother, Belinda Stiles, of DeWitt; sister, Lorrie LeBaube (Kim), of DeWitt; stepbrother, Raymond Stroup (Veronica), of Bennettsville S.C.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Lee Stiles, stepfather, Russell Charlett, her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
