DELAND — Sheryl L. Whisman, 63, of Deland, passed away at 10:05 p.m., June 24, 2018, at her residence.
Sheryl was born on February 21, 1955, in Sullivan, Ind., the daughter of James and Carol (Loudermilk) Brown. She married Donald L. Whisman on May 28, 2008 in Rupert, Idaho.
Sheryl is survived by her husband, Donald Whisman of Deland; children, Christie Taylor (Andrew) of Gastonia, N.C., James Spicer (Laura) of Farmer City, Ill., and Hollie Spicer of Deland, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Carol Brown of Terre Haute, Ind.; and sisters, Cathy Copeland (Larry) of Farmersburg, Ind. and Jamie Isabell (Kelly) of Shelburn, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father and one sister.
Sheryl was a retired Senior Computer Analyst for Country Companies and worked for DOVE in DeWitt County.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or ASPCA.
