CLINTON — In letters to county Republican chairman Dustin Peterson released late Tuesday afternoon, county clerk Dana Smith and county treasurer Gloria Wills each announced they would not seek reelection in 2022.
Smith said in her statement it was time for her to retire, and deputy clerk Kari Allen Harris would run for clerk.
In her letter, Wills said she wanted to spend more time with her family.
Both officials said it had been a pleasure for them to work for the county and for its residents.
