CLINTON — Science is everywhere, and for those who love it we have a morning for you! If you are age 8-18, join University of Illinois Extension for 4-H STEAM on Saturday, March 3, from 9 a.m. - noon. STEAM is a fun-filled day where we dive into the world of 4-H science in an a la carte style atmosphere. STEAM will be held at the Macon County Extension Office, 3351 N. President Howard Brown Blvd., in Decatur.
STEAM starts with an energizing group session where participants will choose their mini-sessions. Choose from topics such as floral design, animal science, catapults, Scratch computer programming, virtual reality, loom knitted hats, stop motion video, robotics, food science and much more. After attending mini-sessions, participants meet for another fun-filled group session where raffle prizes will be awarded. Participants have the opportunity to earn chances for door prizes of 4-H gear, STEAM projects and more by participating and asking questions during the mini-sessions they attend, the more you engage, the more chances you receive to win prizes.
STEAM is free for current 4-H members and $5 for non 4-H members. Register online by February 26, at go.illinois.edu/dmp. For additional information or if you are interested in volunteering for STEAM, contact Samantha at skgibbon@illinos.edu or(217) 877-6042.
