KENNEY — Steven M. Kinney, 62, of Kenney, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on April 29, 2020, at his family residence, Kenney.
No services are planned at this time. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, has assisted the family with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to Dewitt County animal shelter.
Steven was born on October 8, 1957, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Edward and Agnes (Grubich) Kinney. He married Cindy Dhooge on May 28, 1977, at St Anne’s Church, in Long Grove, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Kinney, Kenney; daughter, Melanie Kinney, Clinton; granddaughter, Stephanie Kinney, Marion, La.; siblings Barb (Chuck) Easton, Davenport, Iowa; Loreen (Ted) Peska, DeWitt, Iowa; Janet (Ron) Goldensoph, DeWitt, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Charles Kinney.
Steven was of the Catholic faith. He farmed and was an avid hunter. Steven enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors and loved playing cards, especially Black Jack.
