CLINTON — Steven Ray Smith, 63, of Clinton, passed away at 7:37 a.m. on November 16, 2020, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton, with the Rev. Fr. James Henning officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton. Rosary services will be held at 4:30 p.m. followed by visitation from 5–7 Pp.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.
Memorials may be directed to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, or Community Cancer Center, Normal.
Steven was born September 4, 1957, in Clinton, the son of Keith R. “Corky” and Joyce C. (Provin) Smith. He married Marsha M. Leonard on July 24, 1976 in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha M. Smith, Clinton; children, Ray N. (Deanna) Smith, Clinton, and Katherine A. (Wilbur) LeBlanc, Clinton; nine grandchildren, Damian, Desiree, Aiden, Aydren “Corky”, Adreana, Trista, Jaydon, Chance, and Gage; siblings, Keith Wayne (Kathy) Smith, Clinton, and Terri Ann Smith Davis, Ringold, Ga.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Preston.
Steven worked at Clinton Lake as a site technician for more than 25 years. He volunteered as part of the dive team and the Red Cross. He was also a Master Hunter Safety instructor and was active with various committees at the St. John’s Catholic Church. Steve enjoyed John Wayne movies but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
