CLINTON — Barring any wet weather, contractors will begin work resurfacing Jericho Road on Monday.  Work to the area’s storm sewer also will be performed.

Clinton public works supervisor Steve Lobb notified the local media Monday, as well as city council members, that the project was scheduled to start on Monday.

Hillcrest Drive will be closed to through traffic between Edgelea Drive to Park Lane and Jericho Road from Hillcrest to Edgelea Drive.  Residents or visitors will be able to enter the area between the barricades.  There will be some street closures to all traffic during the resurfacing and storm sewer work.

The city has been working with the post office to set up a bank of temporary mail boxes for residents living along Jericho Road at the southwest corner of Jericho Road and Edgelea Drive.  Residents living along Hillcrest Drive will have temporary mail boxes set up west of Greg Mauer’s driveway.  The contractor will provide the temporary boxes.  Each mail box will be marked with the homeowner’s name.

The contractor will remove the existing mail boxes and give them to residents to keep during the work.  The contractor will reset the mail boxes once the concrete has cured.  Boxes will be reset according to post office and ADA requirements.

In a letter sent out by city engineer Phil Koeberlein, he said that he and the contractor would give residents as much notice as possible when working in front of residences.

Koberlein also is working with residents in the area of the work to coordinate parking and garbage pick up.
