Thank you to veterans and friends for providing Thanksgiving dinners

To those of you who heard about or enjoyed a dinner prepared and delivered, I know you would join me in thanking a group of our veterans, their families and friends, who stepped up and handed out meals.

The aroma of good food from the American Legion building, in Clinton, drew approximately 300 people to receive a free drive-through meal or to donate, if they chose to do so.  Some meals were delivered to homes.

Here in the Clinton area, we often have caring, hard-working and good-hearted folks who can be counted on to “do the right thing.”  Thanksgiving Day 2022 was one of those times!

I was given a list of people who prepared the turkey and all that goes with it, plus pumpkin pie, having ready on Thanksgiving morning.  If I have left out a name, I apologize.

Tom Redington and Kim Pakidis, assisted by Bob and Robert Pakidis, let a group of volunteers that included Linda Charlette, Fred Hoke, David Campos, Krystal and Zander Cicenas, Leslie Cyrulik, Claron and Ava Cyrulik, Tom Farris, Greg, Linda and Dennis Lux, Mike Bensen, Quentin Hovland, Jesse Owens, Ronnie Richards, Jackie Dukes, Pete Peters, “Skip” Armstrong, Marc, Glenna and Ann Rogers, and Joann Ferguson.

Organizations represented included the American Legion and Auxiliary, the AmVets, the VFW, their families and friends.

God bless all of you who gave up a good part of your Thanksgiving Day in order to serve others, the Christian thing to do.

I wish you all a joyous holiday.
