Thanks to the Clinton community during a challenging time

Posted

To our Clinton community,

We wish to extend our deepest appreciation for your care and concern during this very special time.  We were shocked to learn on the morning of Tuesday, June 16, that our church sanctuary building was on fire.  We were told it started sometime during the night.

We want to thank the Clinton Fire Department, the fire departments of the surrounding communities, the Clinton Police Department, DeWitt County EMS, the Red Cross and everyone else who came to help.  We’re thankful that one fireman saw the need to destroy the restrooms and nurseries between the sanctuary and the gymnasium or our gymnasium would also have burned.  For that, we thank the Lord.

It’s during such times as this that we realize what a caring community Clinton is.  We are grateful for the monetary gifts that have been given to us but, most of all, for the prayers by everyone on our behalf.

Our many thanks to the churches who offered to let us use their sanctuaries until we are settled.  We decided to accept the invitation from Little Galilee, which meant we could worship on Sunday mornings.

It is difficult to find words at times like these to express our gratitude to everyone, but we want you to know that we say a very big thank you and God bless you.
