JACKSONVILLE — The Central Illinois Revolution are playing in a baseball tournament at Lenz Field in Jacksonville.  The tournament started last Saturday, June 20 and continues throughout the week.  The Revolution played two games on Saturday.
The first game for the Revolution was against the Canton Crushers, and Crushers they were.
The Revolution took an early one-run lead in the top of the first inning only to lose it in the bottom of the inning when the Crusher’s offense exploded for 4 runs on an error, a single, and a ground out.
While the Revolution offense fizzled, the Crushers kept the pressure on by scoring one run in the second and three more runs in the sixth.

The Revolution took the loss, 8-1.  Garrett Wayne took the pitching loss for the Revolution pitching two innings in which he allowed one hit and five runs while striking out two.  Logan Wills came on in relief for 4 innings, pitching 2 strikeouts while allowing 3 runs.  Wayne and Braden Cross led the Revolution offense with one hit each.
The second game on Saturday saw The Revolution facing the Washington Baseball Club.
The Revolution battled tough in this game, which went 9 innings.  The Revolution took the early lead again, scoring a run in the bottom of the third.
Then, in the fourth inning the Washington team tied the game and pulled into the lead in the sixth with another run.
The Revolution battled back in the bottom of the seventh on a walk and a run scored by Micheal Oswald. The game then went into extra innings until the Washington club scored two runs in the ninth inning to take the lead, which the Revolution couldn’t match in the bottom of the inning.
The Washington Baseball Club took the 4-2 win.  Oswald pitched 8 strong innings for the Revolution, allowing seven hits and 3 runs while striking out four.  Logan Peterson pitched one inning in relief.
The Revolution offense was led by Jacob Rogers, Drew Stacy, and Dominic Graves, each having one hit.  The Revolution are now 0-5 on the season.
