CLINTON — Several representatives from “The Vault” and the local First National Bank and Trust met for a check presentation ceremony on Tuesday at the proposed location for the community center, in downtown Clinton.

T.S. Banking Group of Iowa’s CEO Josh Guttau and President Neil Stanley were in town for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Clinton’s First National Bank and Trust Company, which it acquired in January 2017.

They, along with First National Bank Marketing President Joshua Shofner, Vice President of Personal Banking Rachel Costello, and Universal Banker Shannon Furman, were on hand along with “The Vault’s” Executive Director Michelle Witzke, several board members and adult and teen volunteers for the presentation ceremony.

Guttau presented Witzke with an oversized check for $25,000, which First National Bank and Trust had pledged and paid to “The Vault” earlier this year. Witzke in turn presented Guttau with an inaugural Team Vault t-shirt before they toured the proposed youth community center.

“The Vault” also hosted an auction at the Wapella Community Center on June 17 that raised almost $14,000 from ticket sales, donations, and items sold.

Witzke said that fundraising results have officially crossed the $200,000 mark, and that The Vault Team is humbled and grateful that the community showed up to support the fundraiser.
