DeWitt: 2 new cases, both are in Clinton. No epidemiological linkage. 1 previously active case has recovered. Piatt: 1 new case in Cerro Gordo.

Mild s/s in all.

DeWitt: No changes
Piatt: 3 new cases in Monticello.
1 has been removed from the Piatt case list and converted to Not A Case. The individual was asymptomatic and received 2 consecutive follow up tests, at least 24 hours apart, that resulted as negative.
1 case completed their isolation and is no longer an active case.

Public Health Officials Announce 1,880 New Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus Disease
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today announced 1,880 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 11 additional confirmed deaths.
“Today is a solemn day in Illinois as we’ve now lost 8,000 lives to COVID-19,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “As we mourn the family, friends and neighbors who have been taken too soon, let’s do our part to prevent more senseless tragedy. Wear a mask. Watch your distance. Wash your hands. Every action counts.”

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 231,363 cases, including 8,008 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 48,784 specimens for a total of 3,973,089. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from August 22 – August 28 is 4.0%. As of last night, 1,563 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 349 patients were in the ICU and 134 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, IDPH is now reporting both confirmed and probable cases and deaths on its website<http://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19>. Reporting probable cases will help show the potential burden of COVID-19 illness and efficacy of population-based non-pharmaceutical interventions. IDPH will update these data once a week.
