CLINTON — The DeWitt County Coroner confirmed that emergency personnel pulled the body of a man from Clinton Lake.
Before noon on Thursday, emergency services responded to a report of a person who had fallen from a boat approximately 100 feet out from the Mascoutin boat landing. Several departments were called to respond, and DeWitt County dispatch was in contact with area search and rescue teams, including the Hudson, Ill. search and rescue dive team.
At least one person reported from the scene that the man who fell into the lake had not surfaced.
Authorities report the victim was 63-year-old Michael R. Dailey, of Peoria. He was pronounced dead at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday.
The DeWitt County Coroner and Conservation Police are investigating the incident. They do not suspect foul play.
Preliminary autopsy results indicated he died from drowning.
