CLINTON — Vonajean Baker, 78, of Clinton, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on January 15, 2019, at her family residence, Clinton.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to DeWitt County animal shelter.
Vonajean was born on March 28, 1940, in Ford County, Ill., the daughter of John and Avoil (VanAntwerp) Schmidt. She married David A. Baker on November 6, 1959, in Bloomington.
Survivors include her husband, David A. Baker, Clinton; children, Jean Ann Baker, Clinton; Teresa Lynne Baker, Clinton; Michael A. Baker, Clinton; seven grandchildren, Kindra, Cami, Kelley, Jeremy, Christine, Kayla, and Laura; eight great- grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Linda) Schmidt, Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Wanda (Charlie) Wagner, New Bern, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
Vonajean enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
